Overnights of Hospitality
On the first and third Saturdays of each month we host a
group of women from the Noah shelter in Hyannis. This is a Cape wide ministry
serving the Homeless on Cape Cod by providing shelter for an evening at
local churches.
This ministry is the opportunity for us at OBC to reach out
and serve the homeless, showing Christ’s love to them. Our desire
is to make them feel at home in our church home. OBC has been participating
in this ministry since December 2003.
We have always need overnight chaperones and drivers to transport
guests from the Salvation Army office in Hyannis to the church and back
again. In addition, we need volunteers to assist in providing snacks or
breakfast, helpers to launder sheets for the next overnight or just being
a friendly face.
How can you be involved?
- Hosting - set up bedding, playing games, watching
movies, etc.
- Driving - transporting Saturday night or Sunday morning
- Snacks - providing something sweet, salty, healthy
- Breakfast - prepare a breakfast for our guests
on Sunday morning
- Laundry - washing linens used by our guests
